Classic Texas bucks. Built for hunting. Bred to improve your herd.
Sierra Mesa Ranch is home to several breeder bucks. We select the best bucks that look like something we’d love to see in our crosshairs. Many deer breeders choose mass and total score characteristics for their breeders; we prefer the clean simplicity of a classic looking 10-, 12-, or 14-point buck with a little character.
SMR’s successful deer breeding program began in 1999 and continues today, incorporating the latest science, advanced methods, and technical attention to detail required to produce big, typical Texas bucks that make significant impacts to our customers’ ranches.

Bucks are compared using the Boone and Crockett (B&C) score, which is a standardized measurement used to evaluate trophy deer antlers. It combines antler spread, beam length, tine length, mass, and overall symmetry into one score.
